About me

I understand that life can be exciting, vibrant, busy, scary, unexpected and at times emotional.

We navigate through each day sometimes on autopilot not even realising how we are feeling or patterns that might be forming.

Counselling offers a safe space where you can have time and support in a confidential setting to explore how you are feeling, coping and behaving as a result of your unique life experiences.

My approach is gentle and patient, allowing you the space to explore whilst feeling safe and supported.

I am a registered member of the BACP and a fully qualified integrative counsellor with my main focus being on the person centred approach.

I understand the importance of gentle attentive care and I am passionate about supporting people. I have worked with clients experiencing a wide variety of struggles and I currently volunteer with the Community Bereavement Service at Jersey Hospice which has given me a deeper understanding of the complexities of grief and loss, which I approach with kindness and sensitivity.

Each persons struggles are unique and I aim to provide tailored support to help them explore their emotions, identify underlying patterns and develop tools for resilience and growth. Whether someone is navigating the weight of anxiety, the isolation of depression, or the deep pain of loss, I approach each session with compassion and a focus on empowering them to process their feelings and move toward healing.

For the last four years I have worked as a school based counsellor here in Jersey and prior to that I have over 15 years experience of working with children and young people through various roles, both in primary and secondary school settings, supporting young people with their emotional needs. I believe children learn better and are happier in school if their emotional needs are also addressed.

I am trained and practiced in the process of Drawing and Talking and as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) so I can also draw on these skills to offer emotional support in a gentle friendly fun atmosphere.

I have up to date safeguarding training and knowledge in order to prioritise children, young people and vulnerable adults safety.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
