About me

I'm an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor with extensive experience supporting children, young people, and adults.

I offer a warm, thoughtful, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for them. I understand that seeking therapy can feel like a significant step, and I place great importance on creating a relationship built on trust, safety, and understanding.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of psychological ideas and therapeutic approaches to respond to each person’s individual needs. I believe that no two people experience the world in the same way, so therapy should feel personal, flexible, and collaborative.

My work is informed by attachment theory, Jungian thinking, Winnicott’s developmental ideas, neuroscience, and trauma-informed practice. I am interested in how early relationships and experiences can shape the way we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Sometimes the ways we have learned to cope or protect ourselves may once have been necessary, but no longer feel helpful or supportive in the present.

I believe healing can take place through meaningful relationships, and for this reason I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the work. I aim to offer a safe, thoughtful, and non-judgmental space where difficult experiences can be explored with care and understanding.

I have a creative and flexible style of working, using play, imagery, storytelling, sandplay, and other expressive methods where helpful. These approaches can support the expression of experiences that are difficult to put into words and allow deeper aspects of the inner world to emerge and be understood.

I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients and aim to provide a responsive and inclusive therapeutic space that respects different ways of experiencing and relating to the world.

When working with children and young people, I recognise the importance of the relationships around them. Where appropriate, I work alongside parents and carers to support reflective parenting, helping deepen understanding of a child’s emotional world and strengthen connection within the family.

Training, qualifications & experience

I originally trained as a Psychologist in Brazil, specialising in Hospital Psychology, before working in private practice with adults and young people experiencing a range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

Since qualifying as a Child and Adolescent Counsellor in 2019, I have worked extensively in school settings and therapeutic services. I spent over a year with Latin American Women’s Aid, supporting young people aged 4–26 who had experienced domestic violence and trauma. During this time, I was promoted to Co-Coordinator of the Counselling Service, helping oversee both young people’s and adult provision.

Much of my work has involved supporting clients affected by trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, family challenges, and complex life experiences. These roles have shaped a grounded, flexible approach that balances depth with sensitivity to each person’s circumstances.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
