About me
Life can be incredibly tough, no matter how our lives “look on paper”. I provide a safe harbour, welcoming all of you; who you are today, who you have been in the past and the you that is stepping into the future.
In this supportive and accepting space that we co-create, you can explore with open curiosity, your way of being in the world, the awareness you gain will support you to make good choices for yourself. I believe that like a plant, given the right conditions we all have the potential to thrive.
Anyone can come to therapy and gain something from it, it is your journey. Whether you choose to come to work on one particular issue, a current crisis or a more general curiosity to unpack and understand particular patterns in your life. I work using the modality of Psychosynthesis a very holistic, transpersonal and integrative approach to counselling, giving me access to a large variety of techniques and ways of working.
I am currently working online via Zoom and Face-to-face in "The Therapy Rooms, Elgin". I offer weekly 50min sessions.
Please note that if you are contacting me from the Calderdale area I will only be able to offer you online sessions.
Making Contact
Please feel free to send me an email, I would then look to arrange a free 15min introductory phone call, during which I can respond to your questions and learn more about you and your objectives for counselling.
Following this, the next step would be to arrange an initial session.
Training, qualifications & experience
Background
I have a background in working with people on growth and development, especially children and young people, predominantly in the outdoors. I enjoyed this work very much, but always felt limited by the scope of support I was able to offer, which led me to decide to retrain as a counsellor.
I chose Psychosynthesis as it seemed to align most closely with my experience of life and it's maps and models have been profoundly useful to me on my journey.
Qualifications
Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Development - Psychosynthesis Counselling.
BSc Outdoor Education with Environmental Education.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
