About me

Have you noticed a change in mood, sleep, motivation or that your mind is overwhelmed with too many thoughts. Do you feel you need clarity, understanding, coping strategies, control, answers or a way forward. Are you not sure where to start or how counselling could possibly help, that’s okay, as a counsellor I hear that. But you’ve made it this far and you’re reading this page so let me help you out with the rest.

My approach with my clients is straightforward and down to earth, providing a service to you that is supportive, approachable, safe and effective.

I work a lot with anxiety, low self-esteem/confidence, low mood and trauma, I specialise in childhood abuse and sexual assault/abuse, however I have the skills and experience to work with a vast array of presenting issues. If your presenting issue falls outside my expertise, I’ll let you know this and try to signpost you as best I can.

I offer counselling via phone or Microsoft Teams. I’m professionally accredited and have been working in the mental health and wellbeing field for 10 years.

If you have a question, submit a query and keep an eye on junk/spam folders in case my response ends up in the wrong folder.

I accept the following insurers – Aviva, Vitality and WPA.

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
