About me
Hi, I’m Donna Morris and I am a BACP registered Person Centred Counsellor. I have 5 years of experience, working within a charity organisation with a range of people with different issues and specialising in Bereavement and Counselling for Depression.
I believe that sharing with others in a safe, confidential environment can help if you feel that something in your life is not quite right but are unable to find the cause. it may be that you know the source of your anxieties and low mood but have never felt able to talk about it or share it with another who will listen without judgement and empathise with you.
I am able to provide a warm welcoming, safe place where you can be heard and accepted so that you are able to explore the struggles which affect you until you yourself, can process and resolve your issues in a contained and confidential environment.
I have experience in helping those who are struggling to cope with a wide variety of issues and situations especially those who experience high anxiety, and low mood and have suffered bereavement.
Reaching out for help can be really difficult but by working together to build a therapeutic relationship in which you are listened to and understood, I will ensure that you have the foundations to feel supported enough to be able to process and reflect on your thoughts and feelings to be able to move forward in your own personal recovery.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am fully qualified (Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling) and have worked within a charity organisation for the last 5 years. I am currently undertaking the Counselling for Depression certification.
I have been a volunteer listener and trainer for the Samaritans and a bereavement support volunteer for Cruse.
I specialise in working with grief and loss, working with the effects of traumatic experiences, including working with anxiety, self-harm, depression, drugs and alcohol problems, feeling stuck, unworthy, low self-esteem, domestic violence, sexual violence and suicidal thoughts and feelings.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
