About me

Welcome

I’m Deon Remzi, a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. Life can feel overwhelming, confusing, or stuck at times, whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, past trauma, or just feeling lost. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and free to explore whatever’s on your mind.

Together, we’ll work at your pace to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and move toward a more fulfilling life.

About Me & My Values

I became a counsellor because I believe that, with the right support, individuals and couples have the ability to heal, grow, and live a life that feels authentic and meaningful. I’m passionate about creating a space where you feel truly seen and heard, where your struggles are met with warmth, compassion, and care.

Free Consultation

Choosing a counsellor can feel daunting. To help with this process, I offer a free 20-minute consultation to:

  • Ensure we are a good fit
  • Explore your goals in a way that feels comfortable and supportive
  • Discuss how counselling can meet your needs and what you hope to gain from the experience

This initial conversation is confidential, with no pressure to commit.

Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity

I deeply value and honour your diverse background, experiences, and identities. By embracing your cultural differences, I ensure my approach is inclusive and responsive to your unique needs. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, understood, and truly heard.

How Counselling Can Help

Counselling can be a valuable tool for personal growth, offering clarity and insight as you navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re seeking support for:

  • Anxiety or low mood
  • Relationship issues
  • Life transitions
  • Past trauma or loss
  • Or simply feeling stuck

Therapy offers a safe space for self-exploration and healing. Together, we’ll work to unlock your potential, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and move towards a more fulfilling, balanced life.

My Integrative Approach

As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring the process to your individual needs.

Humanistic Therapy

At the heart of my approach is the belief that you are the expert in your own life. Humanistic therapy offers a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel truly seen and heard.

Together, we’ll:

  • Explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences
  • Help you connect with your inner strengths and values
  • Build greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence
  • Explore your hopes and personal challenges to empower you to make authentic, meaningful choices

This approach supports you in building a stronger sense of self and helps you move forward in ways that align with who you truly are.

Psychodynamic Exploration

Sometimes the struggles we face in the present are rooted in past experiences, even if we’re not fully aware of them. Psychodynamic therapy gently explores:

  • The links between early relationships, childhood experiences, and current patterns
  • How unconscious thoughts and feelings influence your current behaviours, relationships, and emotional responses
  • The underlying causes of self-doubt, anxiety, or repeated patterns that keep you stuck

By bringing these unconscious patterns into awareness, you can break free from old cycles, heal unresolved emotional wounds, and make sense of your feelings, giving you the freedom to make more conscious, empowered choices going forward.

CBT Techniques, Mindfulness & Breathwork

Sometimes our thoughts can take on a life of their own, fuelling anxiety, self-doubt, or harsh self-criticism. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps you:

  • Recognise and challenge unhelpful thought patterns
  • Develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking
  • Build practical coping strategies for day-to-day challenges

I also incorporate mindfulness and breathwork techniques to help you:

  • Stay grounded in the present moment
  • Manage stress and regulate difficult emotions
  • Cultivate a greater sense of calm and emotional resilience

These tools provide practical support that you can use both inside and outside therapy, helping you feel more confident and in control.

What to Expect in Our First Session

Our first session is a chance for you to:

  • Share more about yourself and your experiences
  • Explore what’s bringing you to counselling
  • Begin to clarify what you hope to gain from therapy

We’ll also start building a trusting therapeutic relationship, ensuring the space feels safe and supportive for you to be open and honest. There’s no pressure, the pace is always guided by you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
