About me
I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor who has been in the field for many years. I am also a trained and experienced Clinical Supervisor.
I have worked within both adult and children sectors of mental health ( although with children more around supervision) and have a wealth of experience of supervising both client groups.
I am very passionate about supporting both individuals and couples experiencing any form of distress whether this be something historical, current or anything in the future causing any problem to you. I care deeply about meeting your needs and working with you as opposed to telling you how or what to be. Of course, I will be supportive in sharing my experience with you and any education, guidance or signposting should we feel necessary.
Clinical Supervision is a place to reflect on work to support best practice, whether this be Counselling or front line working with vulnerable adults. It is a space to think about and explore how you work and relate to your clients, ensuring that you are heard respected and understood in order to best support your clients to enable positive outcomes. Research has demonstrated that the relationship is key to positive outcomes.
I really believe that the best outcomes are made based on how we get on, and for that reason, I feel it is so important to be real with you and not the expert with the notepad and sofa! I respect true autonomy and choice and really want to ensure you eventually experience that quality in your own life - whatever the problem may be. I know from my own experience that asking for help can be a little daunting - but believe me some of the strongest men and women I know have faced their own fears and overcome them with the right person to talk to.
I believe that through our meetings discussions and trusting each other that we can resolve the things that are bothering you or your client group This I believe cannot be done in a time limited way because we are all so very different.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
