Integrative therapeutic counsellor MBACP Dip (counselling)

About me

Hello, I am David. I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor, and through Talk to David Ltd, I offer counselling to adults in the Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey  from a private therapy room in central Farnham, as well as providing online counselling to those resident in England.

I believe that everyone is unique and that each and every person is the best placed to answer their own issues. It is my job to build an environment of safety and trust in which you can start to explore your inner world of thoughts and feelings.

For this reason, I base my practice around a humanistic person centred core, which for me is all about achieving a good relational fit between us. My hope is this will allow you to be open and honest about what is concerning you and through that honesty, you get to hear your own thoughts, feelings and issues in your own voice. And there is healing in hearing and bearing witness to our own true story.

In addition to providing you the space to find yourself, to explore your own story, define your issues and find your direction I may offer harder techniques and concepts to assist with individual issues.

Outside of private practice, I work with two charities one providing counselling to young people, and the other providing counselling to adults experiencing drug or alcohol issues.

As such I have experience in working with general feelings of emotional discomfort or dis-ease, relationship issues, and alcohol and drug issues.

I aim to offer an environment in which to gain clarity, a source of connection and an understanding that you are important. A place where you can speak freely, be honest, accept where you are now,  and experience change.

You can contact me either through this website or the https://talktodavid.ltd website.

I look forward to hearing from you

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
