About me

Hello

Are you struggling with uncomfortable feelings or unease with: yourself, others, society, or work?

  • Maybe this is related to your relationship with yourself including worry, stress, anxiety, and guilt.
  • Possibly you are feeling stuck, depressed, or encountering uncomfortable feelings.
  • Perhaps it relates to the experience of the loss of a dear one or a valued part of yourself, or your relationship with others including family issues and a desire to explore endings and possibly moving on.

Are you searching for that trained listener with whom you will be able to relax and say what is frustrating you in your search for peace of mind ?

In essence, I offer you the opportunity to explore your 'self' in a discreet, private and confidential environment away from family and friends. At your own pace you can explore whatever you choose in all its richness and detail.

Within the sanctuary of your counselling session, we will start to explore your inner world of thoughts and feelings, allowing you the opportunity to be open and honest about what is concerning you and allowing you to hear, clarify and bear witness to your own true story.

My approach of listening to you as a whole person can also lead to a lifting of anxiety and depression, especially if you are living life in a way that is not aligned with your inner self. I also have experience exploring the reasons and feelings underpinning alcohol and substance abuse, as well as being boarding school and trauma aware.

Choosing the right counsellor for you is a hugely important step, and so I thank you for stopping by and taking the time to consider whether my personality and skill set will support you on your journey of exploration and change.

About Me: I am an intuitive integrative counsellor who brings deep understanding and compassion into therapy sessions. Fully qualified and BACP registered, I offer comforting and reassuring therapeutic support and bring years of experience to help you heal.

Feedback from previous clients includes:

  • Brilliant, professional and enjoy each session looking forward to the next! (Jul, 2023 after therapy with David for 9 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, relationship issues, sleeping disorders, self esteem, coping with life changes, coaching, compassion fatigue, and adhd.)
  •  David has been amazing at unpicking my issues and helping me find ways to cope. He is professional and considerate with a fantastic, supportive manner. (Nov, 2022 after therapy with David for 2 weeks on issues concerning relationship issues)

If you like what you have read then please call or email to arrange a free chat or a session. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
