About me
My name is David, I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) who specialises in anxiety disorders. If you notice you you feel anxious, on edge all the time and struggle with excessive worry then I am the therapist for you. I aim to help you understand what is the cause of your anxiety, and then most importantly, teach you how to break out of it. It doesn't matter how long you have had this anxiety or how severe it seems. Help is available.
Anxiety is fed by a series of unhelpful behaviours and psychological processes, which lead to vicious cycles maintaining the anxiety. These are typically the same for everyone, regardless of what you worry about. Once you understand these cycles, its simply about introducing tools and helpful alternatives to break you out the hold they have over you.
Anxiety feels terrible. It causes a whole range of uncomfortable sensations. For some this lasts minutes, for others they feel consumed by chronic anxiety. If you feel anxiety has a grip on your life. Don't despair, CBT is a highly effective treatment for anxiety and many reach full recovery in under 12 sessions.
