Emetophobia Specialist | CBT | BABCP Accredited

About me

If you struggle with Emetophobia (fear of vomiting), you are probably feeling anxious and scared. You may even have regular panic attacks. You may struggle with chronic nausea and most likely feel hopeless about getting better. But you can! It may feel like Emetophobia has you in its' unescapable trap, but once you recognise what is keeping you trapped, it is highly treatable.

I will be here to support you through your journey to feel better. From the very beginning of therapy by helping you understand your problem, to treatment and then to setting you up to prevent any relapses.

I offer CBT therapy, the most researched and effective therapy out there for Emetophobia. Together we will dive into the root causes of your problem and see and what's fuelling it in the here and now. Instead of just coping, we'll tackle the root issues to remove this fear from your life.

I know it can sometimes feel overwhelming. But don't lose hope. CBT is a highly effective treatment, and many achieve full recovery in around 12-15 sessions. Reach out now with a free consultation to see what I can do for you. I work with anyone over the age of 13. Under 18's require parental permission.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BABCP accredited CBT therapist with years of experience in the NHS, private sector and run my own private practice dedicated to treating Emetophobia.

Why I got into treating Emetophobia:

When I did my training as a part of the NHS, the training we got on Emetophobia was not good enough. It was just 2 slides, instructions to read an article and a warning that treating Emetophobia was challenging, best left until I was fully qualified.

I did not like that advice and started to actively seek out clients with Emetophobia, determined to learn as much as I could. The more I learned, the more passionate I became about it. This eventually led me to write a textbook, aiming to teaching other therapists.

The thing that made me want to treat it, was witnessing and hearing the personal stories of how Emetophobia was stopping people living the life they wanted to. It infiltrated every aspect of their lives, leaving them scared, hopeless and constantly on edge. I discovered that Emetophobia can easily and successfully treated. I loved helping people finally reclaim their lives overcome this fear. Since then I have dedicated my career to helping those with Emetophobia recover.

One of my favourite things is when I get an email from an ex-client in recovery, updating me on how they have experienced a situation that would have highly triggered them in the past, but how they did not feel afraid.
