About me

Do you feel overwhelmed by your emotions or find yourself reacting in ways you don’t fully understand?

You might be overthinking, feeling on edge, or struggling in your relationships or parenting. It can feel frustrating, confusing, and at times isolating.

I support people who feel emotionally overwhelmed or stuck in patterns they want to change. Together, we explore what’s going on beneath the surface, helping you feel calmer, more in control, and more connected to yourself and others.

I am a qualified and compassionate counsellor, and my practice is focused on providing a warm, safe, and supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. I work in a flexible and integrative way, tailoring each session to your unique needs. This includes exploring thoughts, feelings, and experiences, developing practical coping strategies, and helping you build resilience and self-awareness.

Alongside my counselling training, I bring over twenty years’ experience working in education. This background has given me a deep understanding of emotional development, stress, identity, and the impact of long-term pressure on wellbeing. My work in schools has strengthened my awareness of safeguarding, boundaries, and the importance of creating a safe, reflective space where people feel heard and understood. These skills inform my counselling practice with adults and young people from all walks of life.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any concerns or challenges you would like to address. You will also complete a brief initial assessment form, which helps us set goals together and gives you a chance to reflect on what you want from therapy. I aim to create a non-judgmental space where you feel informed, reassured, and confident about the journey ahead.

I offer sessions in both English and Arabic and work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. I also have experience supporting autistic individuals and tailor my approach to meet their specific needs. My practice is inclusive, accessible, and designed to help you explore and overcome life’s challenges at your own pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), committed to providing ethical and professional support.

I work in an integrative way, drawing on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), and Person-Centred Therapy. This allows me to tailor our work to you whether that means developing practical strategies to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions, or exploring deeper patterns that may be shaping how you feel and respond.

My work is particularly focused on helping people understand their emotional responses and feel more in control of how they react.

I have experience supporting both adults and young people with challenges such as anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, and self-esteem. I also have particular experience working with autistic clients, offering a respectful and supportive space that recognises individual differences and needs.

Alongside my counselling work, I bring over 20 years of experience in education. This gives me a strong understanding of stress, burnout, emotional pressure, and the demands placed on both students and professionals, particularly within school environments.

As a bilingual therapist (English and Arabic) with a multicultural background, I offer a culturally sensitive and inclusive space where clients from diverse backgrounds can feel understood and supported.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
