About me

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, questioning your direction, or simply know that something needs to change, I offer a space where you can explore whatever is on your mind without judgement.

My approach is rooted in person-centred counselling, which means I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to work alongside you with empathy, honesty and curiosity as you make sense of your experiences and discover your own way forward.

I believe that counselling should be both supportive and developmental. My aim is to create a relationship where you feel genuinely heard and accepted, whilst also helping you notice patterns, consider different perspectives and, when appropriate, gently challenging you in ways that encourage growth. I see challenge as part of care, always offered thoughtfully and at a pace that feels right for you.
People often come to counselling because they have spent a long time putting others first, feeling disconnected from themselves, or carrying worries alone. Together we can create space to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and find a way of moving forward that feels authentic and sustainable.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member MBACP.

I draw on existential thinking, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and coaching approaches where they are helpful. This allows us to explore not only what has brought you to counselling, but also the bigger questions about meaning, identity, relationships, values and the life you want to create.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I work exclusively online, offering sessions via secure video. Many people are surprised by how connected and effective online counselling can be. It provides the flexibility to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space, wherever you are in the UK.

I work with adults aged 18+ and welcome clients from all backgrounds and life experiences.
Starting counselling can feel daunting, but you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. If you're wondering whether we're the right fit, I'd be happy to arrange an initial conversation to answer any questions and help you decide whether working together feels right.
