About me
Thank you for visiting this page. My name is Claire Graham and I am BACP registered and a fully qualified experienced integrative counsellor. I work with children, teenagers and adults. My integrative approach to therapy means I combine different counselling theories and am able to accommodate different individuals needs.
I believe that when we experience a difficult time in our life it is important to be able to ask for help and have a space to explore the challenges and emotional difficulties we are facing. I believe in creating a non-judgemental and safe environment in therapy and this is very important to my work.
I offer both short and long term therapy and have an interest in working creatively with clients.
In the first session we will have the opportunity to talk about what brings you to counselling and decide if you feel comfortable with me and the setting I provide.
I believe I am an open, empathetic counsellor that is continuing to learn and wanting to help others. For more information please contact me on 07753397070/ or email me. I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified accredited counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am a trained Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and have received additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Time-Limited Counselling, Psychiatry, Psychopathology, Psychodynamics and working with Young People.
I work privately as well as in a secondary school and for the charity Grief Encounter where I work therapeutically with children and adults both individually and in group settings.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
