Claire Goodwin-Fee MBACP Counsellor & Supervisor -The Therapy Couch
About me
Life can be difficult at times, sometimes we need support in order to alleviate emotional pain and to feel heard. Challenges and difficulties in relationships, work, stress, depression, anxiety, panic disorder, panic attacks, anger, trauma, self harm, childhood issues, sexual and physical abuse, body image, post natal support, gender, sexuality, domestic violence, illness, shame, bariatric (excess weight), confidence and low self esteem, loss, bereavement, infertility just to name a few....
These things can feel overwhelming and perhaps too much to cope with? Maybe your head feels so full up that you can not have any clarity about things? Or you feel paralysed by these difficulties? You may feel that the emotional pain is an obstacle that you can not overcome? Does this sound familiar?
I can work with you in a safe, confidential and private space. I can help you to have clarity, awareness and to ultimately restore balance and wellbeing to your life. For you to have an understanding of who you are, what you would like and for you to feel empowered as an individual. I will help you to challenge negative thoughts in a safe and confidential way. All of our work will be at a pace that's right for you - which is led by you.
Please note at present I am working solely online via video call.
I am a counsellor, trainer and supervisor with over 16 years experience. I work with individuals, groups and organisations. I have experience of working within the NHS, Education and Schools, Social Care, Local Safeguarding Childrens Board and Private Practice.
I have a specialist interest in Obstetric Cholestasis/Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy, Professional Burnout, Vitamin B12, D3 and Trauma.
I truly believe that with understanding comes knowledge and with knowledge comes power. I believe that we can change - we just need the right conditions in which to do so.
Best wishes and look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
