About me

I am a qualified person centred counsellor and Wild therapist working indoors and outdoors. I offer a warm safe compassionate space from which to gently explore what you may bring. Whether you are experiencing a crisis or just wishing to challenge old patterns and vulnerabilities, together we can find a different way of being from within you, to bring about change. I value the connection with nature, which can facilitate being more present and an acceptance of self, aiding this process. I have a particular interest in the therapeutic nature of water, having direct experience of the mental health benefits of cold water dipping and the psychological attunement offered by moving water.

I work with you to co-create an environment that you can feel safe and connected enough for compassionate exploration of the vulnerable aspects of self, with the belief, that much of what we seek is within ourselves. I can offer the opportunity for this work to move outdoors* where our inherent connection with nature can help facilitate this process.

After completing a psychology degree, I trained as a person centred counsellor with additional training in working therapeutically with children and young people. I further developed my practice, completing an immersive training in Wild therapy which explores our innate ability to connect authentically with the other than human.

Cold Water Dipping*

While I cannot offer specific cold water training I can use my regular Coldwater dipping experience (2017-present) together with my psychotherapy training/experience to offer specific therapeutic support to accompany you on your Coldwater dipping journey.

*I am insured for both indoor and outdoor talking therapy, but any activities need to be taken at your own risk. This is only offered with you agreeing to take responsibility for your own risk assessment and making sure you stay within your own physical capabilities.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
