About me
Having lived and worked in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Manchester, and Glasgow, I gained a unique perspective on my identity and how I relate to people and the surrounding environment. I had my own experience of being a guest of a different culture and struggled not fully fitting in, but now I am finding peace within myself. I feel I can empathise deeply with individuals who are going through transitions or experiencing marginalisation/alienation. I want to accompany you on a journey to make sense of the bigger picture and find out more about who you are and how you would like to be in this world.
My practice is based on the Person-Centred approach, which means you are the person at the centre of therapy, holding the knowledge of your life and the answers to your life's questions.
Your view and lived experience deserve to be heard and understood, and I want you to feel safe to talk openly in therapy. I want to empower you to be more in tune with yourself and realise you have options even in a difficult situation. Counselling can alleviate psychological suffering and help you find new perspectives in life. I warmly welcome you to take the first step with me.
Practice description

If we agree to start therapy, I will send you an agreement to sign before our first session.
Please get in touch with me to arrange your free consultation.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience working with clients referred by the NHS/GP and with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I have experience with relationship problems, work stress, grief, low self-esteem, adverse childhood experiences, identity crises, racial discrimination, climate anxiety, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and more. I support people who have experienced intergenerational trauma and cultural differences between generations and within romantic relationships.
I hold a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Salford University. In my MSc Dissertation, I investigated UK Chinese people's experiences in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am interested in the role of identity and culture in mental health.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
