About me

You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, and unsure of how to make sense of what you’re carrying. Counselling can offer a space to pause, reflect, and feel understood. I offer a calm, supportive, meeting-you-where-you-are, down-to-earth approach. A supportive space where you are listened to without judgment and accepted as you are.

I am a person-centred counsellor, and I truly believe in the power of the core conditions of the person-centred approach (empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence).

I am a qualified counsellor and a Member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), based in East Yorkshire, offering therapy online across the UK and face-to-face in Hull and surrounding areas.

My approach is warm, empathetic, and collaborative, shaped by my experience as both a counsellor, teacher, and musician. I work at your pace, offering a safe and supportive space to explore difficult thoughts and feelings. This non-directive approach focuses solely on you and your needs.

I offer a space where you decide what you would like to focus on and the pace that you would like to go. It is a space where you can speak about what you would like to, and how you would like to. A space free of judgement where you have the opportunity to make sense of what you are feeling.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, and substance-related difficulties, and I place strong importance on emotional safety, boundaries, and trust. My practice is open and culturally sensitive, informed by extensive travel and lived experience across Asia and the Middle East.

If you’re curious about counselling or unsure where to begin, I invite you to get in touch for a free 15-minute initial conversation to see whether working together feels right for you.

I offer remote sessions (online video call or voice call, or phone calls without video) and face-to-face sessions lasting up to 50 minutes.

I can work with whatever you are comfortable with, and we can adjust as we go.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
