About me

You may have a clear sense of what’s brought you to counselling, or you might just know that something isn’t right and struggle to put it into words.

I’m here to listen without judgement to what feels difficult — or even impossible — to talk about elsewhere, at a pace that works for you. By talking about what’s happening in your life and how it affects you, together we can begin to make sense of it and move towards greater clarity, less overwhelm, and meaningful change.

Sometimes this means focusing on a specific issue over a short period of time. At other times, it can involve looking more deeply at long-standing patterns, relationships, or challenges.

We might explore how past experiences are shaping your current life, how stress shows up in your body, or how the cultural, religious, or social environment you grew up in has influenced you.

I offer a free 20-minute introductory phone call where you can ask any questions and see whether working together feels right for you. There’s no obligation to continue.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience counselling adults aged 18–80 from a wide range of backgrounds in both the NHS and community counselling services. People came to see me with many different concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD and ASD, relationship difficulties with partners, parents, family, children, friends, or colleagues.

I also work with issues around cultural identity and belonging, life transitions such as leaving home, changing jobs or careers, or bereavement, as well as stress, overwhelm, conflict, anger, boundaries, low self-esteem, and a loss of direction or purpose.

I trained at the Minster Centre, one of Europe’s leading training institutes for integrative. Psychotherapy, and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. My integrative approach means I can work flexibly and adapt to what will support you best at any given moment.

Before training as a therapist, I worked as a manager in a large organisation. This experience gave me a first-hand understanding of the pressures many people face at work and in life — the weight of responsibility, how we respond to stress, and the challenges involved in navigating change and personal growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
