About me

Life doesn’t always go to plan. At different points in our lives we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, grieving, or simply unsure of who we are or where we’re heading. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to face those challenges alone.

I offer a warm, genuine, and non-judgemental place where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind. My aim isn’t to give advice or tell you how to live your life. Instead, we’ll work together to understand your experiences, make sense of what’s brought you to this point, and explore what feels important to you.

As an integrative counsellor, I tailor therapy to the individual rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. Some people find that simply having someone who listens without judgement is enough. Others find it helpful to use creative approaches or walk-and-talk therapy outdoors to explore experiences that can be difficult to put into words.

I have experience supporting adults and children through bereavement and the impact of life-limiting illnesses, as well as working with anxiety, depression, and many other difficulties that can arise from life's experiences.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

I hold a First Class BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling Practice and am due to begin studying for an MA in Psychotherapy Studies in September, continuing to develop my knowledge and skills as a therapist.

My counselling training has included working with a broad range of issues, including bereavement, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, loss, and life transitions. I have experience working with both adults and children in therapeutic settings.

As an integrative counsellor, my work is informed by a range of therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Person-Centred Therapy.
  • Gestalt Therapy.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
  • Transactional Analysis (TA).
  • Attachment Theory.
  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
  • Creative and play-based approaches.

Alongside my formal qualifications, I believe learning never stops. I regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure my practice remains ethical, current, and responsive to the people I work with.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Before establishing my private practice, I gained experience in a range of helping roles, including as a Samaritans listening volunteer and a support worker with people experiencing homelessness. These experiences continue to inform my practice and have strengthened my belief in the importance of empathy, authenticity, and building trusting therapeutic relationships.
