About me

Life does not come with a blueprint - we built it piece by piece.

I am really glad you have found your way to this page. If you are reading this, something might not feel okay right now, and that matters. It can feel like a big step reaching out for support or even to explore the idea of therapy. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck or wanting to take a pause, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

I offer a safe, calm and collaborative space where we can make sense of what is happening for you and explore new ways forward together.

  • Do you feel like you’ve been carrying too much on your own for a long time?
  • Do family conversations often turn into arguments, silence, or misunderstandings?
  • Do you sense that something isn’t right, but you can’t quite put your finger on it?
  • Have recent changes at home, school, work, or in relationships left you feeling unsettled?

My focus is to offer a confidential and supportive space where you can pause, reflect and explore your thoughts without judgement. Through a relationship built on trust and collaboration, we work side by side to support you navigate life in a way that feels manageable to you.

Systemic Psychotherapy with Cherrie Leu

Life does not come with a blueprint

Sometimes life becomes tangled - overwhelmed by work, pressure from school or studies, strained relationships, worried about your child or teenager. These may make you feel ‘stuck’, ‘heavy’ and ‘intense’. Through therapy we can explore the connections, stories and dynamics that shape your experiences.

Therapy can help you shift how you feel and move forward a way of living that feels more aligned with who you are.

During our sessions we can look at what’s influencing how you feel, what might be keeping certain patterns in place and what new possibilities could open up.

I offer a space to slow down, support you to reflect and process your feelings. It is not to place blame, but to understand what is happening and what might help things shift. Together we create meaningful change in your life and relationships.

Who I work with

  • Relationship issues: Whether you're feeling unheard in your relationship, stuck in repeating patterns, or navigating complex family dynamics, I offer a space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Using a systemic lens, we look at how communication, expectations, and histories shape your interactions and how change can begin through understanding and connection.
  • Major life changes/life adjustments: Transitions like moving into secondary school/university, starting new job, becoming a parent or relocating to a new country can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted. I support you in making sense of these shifts, exploring how they affect your identity, sense of belongings and relationships, finding ways to move forward with strengths.
  • Children or young people who are struggling: Sometimes it is hard to navigate school life, peer relationships and academic stress. I work sensitively with children and young people who may be feeling anxious, low mood or overwhelmed. Drawing on my experience in the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), I offer a relational and developmentally attuned space where we can explore their world, strengthen their voice and support the family system around them. I have also trained in Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), which deepened my understanding of how relationships and emotional bonds shape our wellbeing.
  • Stress/anxiety/low mood: You may be feeling overwhelmed, depressed or drained - even if there is no clear reason why. We can explore together how stress, anxiety, or depressed feelings may be shaped by your relationships, environment or internal dialogue, and we can begin to find a way that works for you to feel more manageable.
  • The challenges of parenting/co-parenting: Being a parent can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging. Whether you are navigating parenting, wanting to support your child but unsure how, or co-parenting in different forms of families, I offer a space to reflect on your role, your values, and relational patterns that may be shaping your family life.
  • Work/life balance: When work demands begin to overshadow your wellbeing, or when personal and professional roles feel hard to juggle, together we can explore the systems and expectations around you, and work on how you might restore balance and reconnect with what matters most to you.
  • Self-esteem: If you are feeling not good enough, having self-doubt, or constantly in a cycle of comparison, I offer a space to explore where these beliefs come from and how you might begin to develop more compassion and confidence towards yourself.

Therapy is an opportunity to begin to reflect, process and make sense of your experiences, and things can start to feel ‘back in control’.

You may find yourself responding differently to familiar situations, feeling more grounded and more positive about the decisions you make. I can support you to reconnect with yourself, shift unhelpful patterns and begin to see yourself as well as those around you - with a different perspective.

Working with me may give yourself some space to breathe and that there is a way forward. We will be walking alongside as we explore together.

If you are curious a little more about me and how I work

Before becoming a systemic psychotherapist, I worked as a social worker in Hong Kong in my previous career. Earlier in my life, I spent some time in Australia as an exchange student, and later in the America and Malaysia through short-term work placements. These experiences shaped how I see the world and how I connect with people from all walks of life. I understand what it’s like to navigate change, to feel uncertain and to rebuild life piece by piece. Apart from clinical experience, I also bring the perspective of someone who has navigated (or still navigating) change across cultures, languages and professional systems.

I can offer therapy in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, depending on what feels most natural and comfortable for you. I understand deeply how language shapes the way we express ourselves - and how some feelings, experiences and cultural nuances may not even be possible to translate. Speaking in your native language can help you feel more connected, more understood and more able to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface.

I hope this helps you feel confident that you are meeting someone who sees the world from more than one angle, and who will meet you with warmth, openness and genuine interest in your story.
