About me

You do not have to pretend you are okay.

Many of the people I work with are skilled at hiding their true feelings. On the outside you look as if you are coping, but inside you may feel lost, overwhelmed or invisible. Whether you are carrying a private grief or an old pattern of being overlooked, I offer a steady and respectful space where you do not have to hide your experience.

Working with adults

I provide a calm and grounded environment where you can bring the parts of your life that feel too difficult to share elsewhere. Talking about painful things is not always easy, so we go slowly and work with whatever feels safe to share. I work in a person‑centred and integrative way, which means our sessions are guided by what you bring and what matters to you. When it feels helpful, I draw on CBT training to offer practical tools that support you with the emotional strain of daily life. My role is to stay alongside you rather than push or rush, so you can explore things at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Children and young people

Growing up today can feel confusing and tough. Many young people feel they have to hide how they feel just to get through the day. With over twenty years of experience supporting this age group, I understand the pressures they face and the different ways they try to cope.

I use creative methods and conversation with both children and teenagers, as these approaches often make it easier to express feelings that are hard to put into words. Whether we are using art, objects, stories or conversation, the aim is the same: to offer a space where young people can explore what’s going on for them without fear of judgement or pressure. My focus is on helping them feel seen and understood in a world that can feel unpredictable and demanding.

My background

My practice is guided by the belief that curiosity leads to understanding. I am currently completing an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, which deepens my long‑standing work with children, teenagers and families. My approach is steady, warm and grounded, and I aim to help each person feel understood in a way that does not feel intrusive or overwhelming.

Outside of therapy, I spend most of my time walking my dog, being with family and friends, and unwinding with a favourite series. These moments help me stay grounded and present in my work.

If you’d like to explore whether this support might be helpful for you or your child, you’re welcome to get in touch. I offer a free 20‑minute video consultation so you can get a sense of me and see whether this feels like the right fit, with no pressure or expectation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
