About me
I understand things can be difficult, confusing and downright unbearable at times. I offer a supportive space outside of work hours at Silver Street Clinic, in which you can be heard, understood and better yet, build your own understanding of yourself and ways of coping.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationships, life transitions or loss, working together we can come to understand what has led to your troubles and find the best solutions for you.
How I work
I believe that no one knows you better than you do, so collaboration is at the centre of all the work that I do. Together we will find the most appropriate style of therapy - be it CBT, person-centred or psychodynamic - for you and work together to unravel and explore the root of your concerns at a pace that feels right for you.
If you’re looking to be heard, to be understood and to understand yourself more deeply, then please do not hesitate to contact me and I can provide these within a supportive, confidential space.
What to Expect During Our First Session
If you feel that I may be able to assist you then following your initial contact, I will send some information detailing the ways I work, payment details, contact details and a confidentiality statement so that you know what you can expect.
When we do first meet face to face I will simply confirm some of the key things from the email, and then we will discuss what has led you to therapy, your thoughts and feelings around counselling and we would go from there. Establishing together how we may approach your concerns, ways in which to do this and working out a pace that is comfortable for you while a bit challenging at times.
When I Work
In terms of availability, I'm taking clients outside of work hours in the evenings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm at Silver Street Clinic in Maldon.
I know how difficult it can be to ask for help, and to find a counsellor, so I hope I can offer you what you’re looking for and if not that you’ll find what you’re looking for.
Training, qualifications & experience
As you would hope, I am a fully qualified counsellor having trained with Chrysalis in pluralistic counselling and I registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
Alongside my three years of training with chrysalis, I’ve worked with Nightingale Placement and Therapy up in Sudbury for two years. Helping people to manage their anxieties around life and big changes they’ve had, cope with relationship struggles and to come to understand the patterns in their relationships and to manage difficult bereavements.
