About me
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward can be really difficult. You may be experiencing anxiety, low confidence, or the impact of past experiences, or simply finding that life feels heavier than it used to. Many people seek counselling at times like this — and whatever brings you here, you don’t have to face it alone.
I’m a qualified, BACP-registered counsellor offering a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly at your own pace.
I offer both online counselling across the UK and face-to-face sessions from my practice in Tameside, Greater Manchester, providing flexibility depending on what suits you best. I also offer a free 20-minute introductory call, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and see whether I feel like the right fit for you before committing.
I support adults who are feeling anxious, low in confidence, or overwhelmed by life changes, as well as those wanting a deeper understanding of themselves and their patterns. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where your story matters and change is possible - and I see people make meaningful change through counselling all the time.
I aim to work collaboratively, helping you feel heard, understood and supported, while gently exploring ways to build insight, resilience and confidence. Many clients find counselling helps them feel more grounded, clearer in their thinking, and better able to cope with life’s challenges.
Many of my clients come to me for anxiety counselling, support with depression, low self-worth, interpersonal difficulties, stress, loss and bereavement, and boundary setting. I also have experience supporting people affected by health anxiety, domestic violence, trauma, and relationship breakdowns.
I am the type of counsellor your friends and family would recommend, and that's sometimes how clients come to find me. I believe counselling should be a safe space for clients with a faith of any kind to explore their relationship with spirituality and their faith communities.
I am the type of counsellor your friends and family would recommend - and that’s sometimes how clients come to find me. I also believe counselling should be a safe and respectful space for clients of any faith or spirituality to explore their beliefs and experiences in relation to their wider lives.
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful change. If you’re looking for a professional counsellor in Tameside, or online counselling support from across the UK, please feel free to get in touch - I’d be happy to hear from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a person-centred counsellor, registered with the BACP. Person-centred means that you are the expert, and I use my skills to find patterns and bring out the helpful and unhelpful
I offer short- and long-term sessions, finding that, goal dependant, people can see a significant difference in 2-3 months.
I have a grown supportive and successful private practice, working online and face-to-face. Many clients have been surprised by how personable online work can be, and some who start off face-to-face switch to online (or do a mixture of both) for convenience. Research shows online can be as effective as face-to-face for many issues.
I have worked with cancer patients through Macmillan, in the NHS, supporting those with life-changing and/or life-limiting illnesses. This has given me vast experience of working with people with health anxieties, major life transitions, and losses (e.g. work, physical abilities, changes in appearance, and changing/lost relationships). This also included working with family members and carers during and after treatment as well as after bereavement.
I have experience of working with students (16+), supporting them in a holistic way as they study, to help them be in the best place to learn, grow and find contentment in life, in and out of school/university. This includes counselling and psychotherapy students who are often required to undertake mandatory counselling as part of their course. I also see students in collaboration with Salford University.
I work as a therapist with a charity supporting men who are experiencing homelessness, and who have experience of the criminal justice system and addictions.
I am also qualified in Single Session Therapy (also known as ONEplus Therapy) having trained with Professor Windy Dryden. This model can be highly beneficial for those who don't want to commit to multiple sessions but would like support with one specific need. Sessions last one hour and prep work is done by both the client and myself to make the most of the time, remain focussed on the issue, and allow for the greatest possibility of effective change.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
People come to counselling for a variety of reasons. Some know what it is they want to work on, for others they just know something isn't right but can't quite put their finger on what it is. I provide a supportive space for exploration, without judgement, where you can bring who you are, wherever you are at, and move forward safely and effectively.
If you feel lost, cannot find a way through, and know there must be more and better things that life has for you, counselling can help.
I currently have some space opened up due to several clients successfully achieving their therapeutic goals.
I offer free assessment calls, which last about 20 minutes, to make sure we are a good fit. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a call.
