About me
Making changes in your life can be very challenging. Sometimes we can feel stuck in the way that we are feeling. This may have been the case for a long time, or just recently. For whatever reason this is, counselling can help with seeing a way forward, by discovering the root cause, working on ways to cope and develop strategies to move on with your life.
I believe that every person is unique, and the counselling relationship is unique. As an integrative counsellor I am able to use the relational model of counselling and also draw from other models and theories when needed, meeting the needs of my individual clients.
I have worked with a variety of clients with presenting issues such as: Bereavement, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity, and trauma.
I work with long term/short term clients.
I offer a safe, confidential place and work within the professional code of ethics set by the BACP.
I am very focused on providing therapy to my clients and I am very passionate about counselling. It would be a privilege to connect with you and help make a difference in your life.
I work with adults (18+). My fee is £60 for a 50 minute session and all potential clients are offered a free assessment session.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced, qualified counsellor (PG Dip Integrative counselling and psychotherapy from Uni of East London) who is registered with the BACP.
I have experience working with organisations as a therapist as well as individuals.
I have worked at Headstrong dealing with a wide variety of presenting issues.
I also work in private practice.
I use an integrative person-centred approach which draws from a variety of different techniques suited to the clients’ individual needs.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
