About me

Hello and a warm welcome to my page. If you are unhappy or anxious and would like to talk to someone, I can offer a safe and confidential space for you to do that.

I'll work with you to explore and understand your thoughts and feelings. Whether it is a difficulty you are facing right now or experiences from your past that are still troubling you, counselling can help and support you in finding a way forward.

Having been in practice for over 10 years, I have experience working with people with a wide range of issues including difficulties with anxiety and low mood, lack of purpose or direction, as well as family or relationship problems that are preventing them from living a full and happy life. Please get in touch if you would like to book an appointment.

Training, qualifications & experience

BSc (Hons) Degree in Counselling (Bath Spa University)
Foundation Degree in Counselling (O.U.)
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB)
CPD training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and follow their code of ethics.

Since 2010, I have volunteered as a Counsellor for Wiltshire Mind. This has enabled me to work with people with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, addictive behaviours, bereavement and questions around identity, purpose and direction.

Previous to this, I worked for four years at a local secondary school in a mentoring role, gaining experience in working with young people with behavioural difficulties and emotional issues. My training and way of working incorporates a range of therapeutic approaches depending on the client’s needs and priorities.

I attend regular supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines to ensure safe practice, and have professional indemnity insurance. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
