About me
Welcome,
It takes courage to seek counselling – whether it’s your first nervous step or a return to therapy – and it can be daunting, especially when you’re feeling anxious and low, finding the “right’ counsellor for you.
You may be “just not feeling myself" unable to live life to the full, confused and stuck why. Or perhaps you know your challenges and struggle to share them with your family and friends. Your feelings become “the elephant in the room," as you fear being a “burden."
Maybe you’re a young person, stressed about exams, figuring out who you are, apprehensive about adulthood and what that means for you.
Do you put on a smile and “get on with it” because that’s what you’ve always done – always been expected to do - how ever anxious or depressed you may feel?
How counselling can help
I'll create a warm, non-judgemental space where you can share without fear of upsetting anyone. It'll be your space where you and your needs are the focus of our work as we look at your challenges together.
You'll be accepted for the person you are as we explore how you can grow into the person you want to become.
How I work
I'm a fully qualified, BACP-accredited counsellor, working within the BACP's ethical framework to best serve my clients. I work integratively, which means I blend my approach to meet your needs as you're an individual with unique experiences and your own take on the world.
I won’t tell you what to do or give you advice – I think, deep down, you are the expert on you – but I understand sometimes we struggle to navigate events or our feelings and our thoughts get tangled up. I'll be at your side as we try to untangle your thoughts together. If useful, we may explore your childhood and more recent past to identify any issues or patterns which may still affect you and your relationships today.
I believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship. It's a privilege to earn my clients' trust and help give them a voice when they may have often or always felt unheard.
You'll always be at the heart of our therapeutic relationship. I’ll be alongside you doing my utmost to understand you and your evolving needs. I'll strive to do – be - my best to nurture you with tenderness and compassion to find your own way at your own pace to your true self and a happier life.
Your next step
Thank you for reading my profile and taking that first courageous step to help yourself. Now take a deep breath and take the next step - text, leave me a voicemail on my mobile or email me and I will get back to you within 24 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
Qualifications and training
I have a L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a L5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
Demonstrating my passion and commitment to learning to most effectively serve my clients, I am currently studying for a L7 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy, alongside my practice.
I ensure my practice remains dynamic with regular training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including and not limited to grief specialism, working with young people, working with neurodivergence, suicidality, shame and self-compassion.
Experience
Alongside my private practice, I work with Off The Record Twickenham, a counselling service for young people 11-24, working extensively with anxiety and depression, and The Brain Tumour Charity, supporting people living with brain tumours and their families.
I have extensive experience in supporting people and their families living with terminal diagnoses; enabling people to break the taboo of talking about death to help them live as well as they can with cancer.
My client work also includes and is not limited to, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, anger, shame, relationship issues, sexuality, life transitions such as going to university, parenthood, redundancy and divorce, bereavement, grief and loss.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
What I offer
Weekly 50-minute sessions, online, phone or face-to-face at my practice room in Richmond. These can be open-ended (long-term) sessions or short-term sessions (6-12 weeks).
What you can expect
I offer a free 15-minute phone or Zoom call - whichever you prefer - so I can share a bit more about how I work, answer your questions and see if we think we can work together - it's crucial that you feel as comfortable as possible with your therapist.
Then we would have our first, paid 50-minute session when I would find out more about why you're seeking counselling, why now and what your hopes are from therapy to decide if we want to carry on working together.
