About me
I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field, supporting adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I work with clients in both English and Spanish and have experience supporting people from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds.
Throughout my career, I have worked across NHS Talking Therapies, primary care and community mental health settings. I have supported people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, PTSD, stress and adjustment issues, as well as more complex emotional and relational challenges.
I believe that each person brings their own unique experiences, circumstances and ways of understanding the world to therapy. My aim is to offer a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and able to explore what is important to you.
My approach is integrative and grounded in Humanistic values, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of my work. I believe that feeling understood, accepted and safe within therapy can provide an important foundation for meaningful change.
I also draw on evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches where appropriate. This may involve developing an understanding of patterns of thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and exploring practical ways of responding to difficulties differently.
I do not believe that therapy should follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we will work collaboratively to understand your individual needs, goals and circumstances and shape the therapeutic process accordingly.
Depending on what you would like to work on, therapy may involve exploring your experiences and emotions, developing greater self-awareness, understanding patterns within relationships, building emotional resilience or developing practical coping strategies.
My therapeutic work is primarily based around regular scheduled sessions, providing consistency and a dedicated space for us to focus on your goals and therapeutic process.
Sessions are tailored to your individual needs. Where helpful, we may agree on reflective exercises or practical tasks to consider between sessions. These are intended to support and extend the work we do together rather than create pressure or expectation.
I encourage clients to take time between sessions to reflect on what has been discussed and to notice any thoughts, feelings or experiences that may arise. We can then explore these together during our sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Humanistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT), with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field.
My counselling and psychotherapy practice is grounded in Humanistic principles, which place importance on the therapeutic relationship, empathy, acceptance, authenticity and the individual experience of each client.
As a Humanistic practitioner, I provide a space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, experiences and relationships in a way that is respectful, collaborative and non-judgemental. I believe that developing a trusting therapeutic relationship can be an important part of the process of understanding yourself and creating meaningful change.
Alongside my Humanistic practice, I am a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist. My CBT training and clinical experience enable me to use structured, evidence-based CBT interventions when these are appropriate to a client's needs and therapeutic goals.
CBT can involve exploring the relationship between thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and behaviours, identifying patterns that may be maintaining difficulties, and developing practical strategies to support change.
My experience of delivering CBT includes working with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related difficulties, PTSD, stress and adjustment difficulties.
I have over 10 years of experience working across different mental health settings, including NHS Talking Therapies services, primary care and community-based mental health services.
Throughout my clinical career, I have worked with adults experiencing a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including more complex emotional and relational challenges.
I have experience in assessment, formulation, treatment planning and delivering psychological interventions, as well as reviewing progress collaboratively with clients.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
