About me

Welcome,  I’m Camila. I offer a grounded, gentle and deeply relational space for people who feel emotionally overwhelmed or disconnected, struggle with low mood, or find themselves stuck in a repeating relationship dynamic. I offer therapy in Spanish and English.

My practice is feminist and human-rights informed at its core, with close attention to power, oppression, and the impact of social injustice on emotional well-being. I have a particular interest in reproductive health and abortion-related experiences, including decision-making, pre/post-abortion emotions, grief, relationship impacts, and experiences of stigma or shame. I also often work with autism/ADHD people and offer a space where you can show up as you are.

My commitment is to be alongside you in whatever you are carrying, pain, grief, anxiety, life transitions, or simply the need to explore and understand yourself more deeply. I’m open and curious about the parts of your experience that feel darker, heavier, or complex to put into words, and I will meet you exactly where you are.

Therapy with me is collaborative and led by what matters most to you. Over time, our work can help you feel more connected and embodied, understand your inner world with more spaciousness, set more precise boundaries, and relate to yourself and others from a place of choice rather than obligation.

I  work online across the UK and in person in Leith, Edinburgh (EH6). If this resonates, I offer a free 20-minute consultation call. You’re welcome to email me to arrange it, and we can decide together whether to book an initial 50-minute session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Postgraduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a final-year Doctoral Candidate with over 5 years’ experience supporting adults across diverse settings. I hold a COSCA-accredited Counselling Diploma and am BACP-registered, working in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.

I have experience supporting neurodivergent adults and women navigating identity, relationships, trauma, reproductive health, and life transitions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

My approach is integrative, working in a dialogue between psychodynamic and person-centred psychotherapy. This means we can explore deeper, often unconscious patterns that may be shaping your current life and relationships, while staying present in a caring, client-led approach that moves at a pace you feel comfortable with.
