About me

I am an experienced mental health Practitioner and a Counselling Psychologist, chartered through the BPS. I am also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council HCPC. I completed my practitioner psychologist training, attaining a Doctor of Counselling Psychology degree at York St John University, England. I have gained extensive experience within the National Health Service NHS and private mental health sectors, specialist interest in trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, self-esteem, and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. My dedication to the field has led to significant contributions in both clinical practice and research, including presenting at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology's forensic conference in 2021.

Currently, I also work as a Step 4 psychologist practitioner, where I provide comprehensive psychological assessments, create tailored treatment plans, and deliver interventions for clients with complex mental health challenges. My therapeutic approach integrates various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT, Narrative Exposure Therapy NET, Cognitive Analytical Therapy CAT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT. I often combine these methods in a personalised and formulated manner.

My practice is rooted in humanistic psychology, emphasising empathic and genuine therapeutic encounters. I believe in creating a safe space for clients to explore their experiences and trust that each individual holds the innate capacity for healing. Whether through short-term focused sessions or long-term therapy, I am committed to promoting mental well-being and providing care that meets each clients unique needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist with a Doctorate and a background in Forensic Psychology. I use evidence-based therapies, including CBT, Narrative, and Person-Centred Therapy, to support individuals with trauma, anxiety, and self-esteem challenges.

Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
