About me
Hello, My name is Barry, I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist who can work with both adults and children.
At the moment I can offer sessions over on Zoom or Teams.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am Qualified in L5 professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.
As well as L5 in Counselling children and young people.
I work with individuals on the Pluralistic approach incorporating different modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the Psychodynamic and Humanistic ensuring that you get the best out of each session.
With this in mind, I always make sure that your sessions are Person centred meaning they are led by yourself and at your pace.
I understand that making the first step in deciding to come to counselling can be daunting, that is why I offer a free consultation for you to find out if this is right for you.
I am a very good listener and very much a people person. I understand what it is to experience trauma[BD1] and my extensive background of working with vulnerable adults has given me the tools to use centred around empathy, congruence and respect and non-judgment.
I have worked with clients with a variety of issues including, anxiety, stress, depression relationships and trauma.
I am an accredited member of the National Counsellor and Psychotherapy Society and work to the body’s principles, policies and codes of ethics and practices.
