About me

If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, worried, anxious or helpless, I might be able to help, using evidence based treatment, such as CBT.

If you feel that there are parts of you, that get in a way of your life - inner critic, inner procrastinator, a scared self, people pleaser, stuckness  -  you might benefit from learning more about these parts, and work with me using chairwork.

If you would like to hear more, contact me to arrange a free 20 minutes telephone consultation, and I can explain in more detail, how I work and what interventions might be suitable to support you in your struggle.

My name is Barbara Pizl, and I still have some space (including evenings and some weekends) to accept new clients in Crouch End and Online. I am a fully accredited Cognitive-Behavioural and Interpersonal psychotherapist. I am also certified Chairwork therapist and I use experiential methods to help people process difficult and often painful emotions, and resolve relationships struggles. I specialise in PTSD and trauma, anxiety disorders, depression and low self-esteem. I believe therapy can help people walk through the dark times with compassion, support and hope, in order to be more aware, and learn new skills to better manage one's mental health. Finding the right therapist is a really important part of the process. I offer a free 20 minutes telephone consultation, so you can see, if I am the right fit for you.

My practice is grounded in respect and openness. I welcome people of all identities, orientation, and beliefs, and I am proud to stand as an LGBTQ+ ally, offering a space where you can feel seen, heard and supported.

I offer face to face session in Haelan Clinic, in Crouch End (N8) and online video sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy psychotherapist since 2016, and IPT Therapist since 2021, although I have been using CBT to help people with mental health issues since 2012. I am also level 1 certified Chairwork Therapist (Chairwork Psychotherapy Initiative). Before setting-up in private practice I have worked for the NHS for 14 years which remains the backbone of my work.
