About me

Are you feeling stuck and confused? Maybe you’re not sure what you’re feeling or how to get better. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety or depression or difficulty focusing, or maybe it’s a question of clarifying your goals in life and finding a way to reach them.

You could be having difficulties forming or maintaining relationships, or figuring out who and what you want to be. Perhaps, you are wanting to get over or process feelings of loss and bereavement, or a big life transition. Alternatively, you could be feeling fulfilled in certain key aspects of your life, and just wanting to expand this feeling more fully into living a richer and more meaningful life.

I have helped clients with all of these. As someone who has used therapist services myself, I know that it can be nerve wracking to look up a counsellor online.

I'm a fully qualified psychotherapist, working with adults, couples and young people on a broad range of issues; including anxiety; depression; trauma; from a life-crisis when you need to talk to someone, to people who want to spend time exploring and discovering who they are and want to make lasting changes in areas of life they are stuck in, or clients who want to work on a more short-term issue over a shorter block of sessions. I support my clients to feel more positive about their lives, and bring about beneficial changes for themselves, and those around them.

Previous clients of mine have come for support with anxiety and depression; other issues I have experience with include loss, relationship difficulties and trauma.

Using Gestalt therapy, a therapy which focuses on slowing down and helping you to get in touch with yourself more deeply, I work with clients to raise awareness of their strengths and resources, to help them take action to find ways to feel more fulfilled. I offer warm, compassionate presence, which my clients tell me helps them to feel more secure and confident in themselves. In my experience, creating a strong supportive therapy relationship between myself and my clients is one which creates a starting point for change and growth.

If you would like to know more about me and my approach, contact me to arrange a one-off assessment session or a free 15-minute introductory call, to help you see if I could be the person to support you in making positive changes in your life.

How I Can Help

As a fully qualified psychotherapist, I am passionate and deeply interested in the positive benefits of both counselling and therapy. I believe that therapy offers unique opportunities for a person to get in touch with their strengths, confidence and resilience, and in so doing equips them to deal with any challenges facing them. In my experience, the therapy room is where positive changes begin.

I enjoy my therapy practice a great deal, and value the opportunity to support my clients gain further clarity, raise awareness, and become more fully in touch with who they are, and want to be.

To offer clients flexibility, I practice in therapy studios in the Fulham/Putney areas and in Wimbledon. I am also comfortable and experienced in offering therapy online or by phone, and now also offer 'Walk-and-Talk' therapy in natural settings.

I am able to help with immediate issues – resourcing you for challenges you might be facing right now – or to explore deeper / older issues, which may be colouring your life. Whether you are in crisis, or wish to work through the impact of past experiences, I respect your sense of what you need, and provide structured, emotional support.

Counselling or Psychotherapy?

Generally I see counselling as a shorter term process working with a specific focus. Psychotherapy works at greater depth enabling you to explore, for example, the underlying patterns of relating that you have developed and how these occur in your current life. You may wish to find deeper meaning in how you exist in the world. This awareness I see as key in making long term changes in the way you live your life in the world.

Background to my Approach

I believe who we are emerged as a response to the environment we faced in our past. Through understanding this, you can begin to reclaim parts of you that are important but might have been forgotten. My Gestalt approach includes the view that bodies hold a wealth of knowledge and when listened to can begin to melt old patterns which we may have carried since childhood.

You may have a clear sense of what you are facing, or a broader wish to explore yourself or feel more balanced and grounded where you are in your life. I have experience working with either approach to therapy and will work from where you wish to start.

I am supported by my own regular Supervision and abide by the UKCP ethical framework and code of practice.

How To Get Started

Your starting point might vary. Perhaps you have been feeling anxiety, confused, let down, or stressed. Maybe ‘depression’ is a word that seems to fit. Or maybe you just seek more clarity and support about who you are, what you want, and how you can get there. I can help you to bring about these changes.

Feel free to contact me, for a free initial 15 minute phone call, or an initial consultation session, to see if we might ‘fit’ in terms of how we work together. I like to see myself and my clients as a team, working to support you on your journey together. I look forward to supporting you. I see clients in Therapy studios in the Fulham/Putney area, and also in a therapy room near to Wimbledon station.

Email, call or text me for an appointment today. I endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

Further information

Working Online:

I also offer Online therapy, by video call, as well as telephone appointments.

You may be considering the option of working with me in this way. While some clients feel some understandable caution about this, there are many who feel comfortable with this. I am happy to be flexible: I have worked with clients only in-person, and have also worked with others exclusively online, or with clients who switch between the two because of their own schedules.

I have found there to be many advantages and benefits to online therapy. Especially since the pandemic, working online has become a popular and convenient way of seeking and accessing ongoing support. Possible advantages to online therapy include:

  • Research suggests online therapy is just as effective as working face-to-face
  • The relationship between client and therapist is unaffected
  • Clients are not limited to choosing a therapist based on locality
  • It can save time and money due to not having to travel
  • Accessing therapy in the familiar surroundings of home can support a relaxed and safe environment
  • The same rules of confidentiality apply so you can be assured everything remains in strict confidence
  • Sessions can be attended from different locations, allowing further flexibility
  • This form of therapy can also be beneficial to those who work shifts or irregular hours

Online therapy follows the same structure and as face-to-face appointments. All you need is a quiet, private space and a stable internet connection.
