About me

Life can be challenging at times.

  • You may be struggling with issues from your past that are having an impact on your life and relationships.
  • You may be suffering from anxiety, depression, current work or relationship problems.
  • You may not know exactly what is wrong, but you know that you want things to change for a more positive future.

I can offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore your issues, whatever they are. I work according to the person-centred model of counselling, offering a genuine and congruent space in which we can build a therapeutic relationship. I believe that each of us is our own expert and sometimes we just need someone alongside to bear witness to our experience, without judgement. My role is not to give advice or direction, but to offer the time and space for you to safely explore your issues.

In our first session, we would explore a little of what is bringing you to counselling and I can explain how I work as a counsellor. We would agree when and how often to meet. It is usual to meet weekly, but I can be flexible.

I attend monthly supervision to ensure professional standards. I undertake continuing professional development to maintain and enhance my practice.

Please feel free to email, text or phone me to discuss your needs.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
