About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. I specialise in anxiety management and I work with all sorts of issues around Anxiety. This can cover anything from generalised anxiety to more specific issues such as phobias, right the way through to post traumatic stress disorder. This means, if you have a fear of anything, I can help you overcome this with a sensitive program that will be carefully tailored to your individual abilities; giving you the maximum skills to conquer anxiety and get your life back to a state of equilibrium.

If you are looking for a counsellor, then you will be looking for somebody you can trust. No matter how big or small your feelings are, they are real and need to be respected. I can help you by providing you with a welcoming, warm and understanding persona along with a safe and discreet environment to help you explore your feelings with complete comfort.

The type of counselling style in which I work will be tailored to best fit your individual needs and at a pace that you feel most comfortable with. The most important part of the work will only take place once you are feeling understood without being judged.

There are a range of issues I work with and you may want to look at some of those listed below under the heading of, Areas of counselling I deal with. You may also wish to click on the link above to take you to my own personal web page.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m an integrative counsellor leaning more towards person-centred practice. This means I have been trained in a number of ways of working; therefore my aim is to work with the tools I have that best fit your needs. I also endeavour to work at a pace that is most comfortable and practical for your journey.

My early work in counselling was based around drug and alcohol misuse. I still enjoy my work in this field however along the way with further research and study I was able widen my counselling expertise. I was particularly interested in looking closer into why some individuals find the need to self-medicate around their high levels of anxiety along with other maladaptive coping mechanisms. Naturally this lead me to look into and to work closer with issues around phobias, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, self-harm and free floating anxieties. When levels of fear are so high, coupled with a past event that proved to be life threatening, such findings can be indicative of Post-traumatic Stress and/or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. In 2013 I completed studies and gained a certificate in Recognising and Treating Post Traumatic Stress and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders.
