About me

Do you constantly feel judged by others, and too scared to voice your true feelings? Swamped by the overwhelming expectations of those around you?  Do you feel like you don’t know who you are? Trapped in a world where others don’t see or hear you.

We will explore these experiences and emotions gently but in depth, getting to the root cause, and making way for lasting changes. This will be done in a space that feels right for you, one in which you feel safe enough to open up and be heard.

HOW I WORK

I work Psychodynamically, meaning together we will learn about your past and your present, really getting to grips with the root of your concerns. This modality is open ended and therefore it gives us the opportunity to really delve deeper and make lasting changes. If this feels like something that connects with you, then I would love to hear from you.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

I work solely online, with sessions lasting 50 minutes. You are welcome to contact me by email, and we can arrange an initial assessment, in which I am able to get a sense of what brings you to counselling, and what your goals are. It also provides an opportunity for you to meet me, and to decide if you would like to begin your counselling journey. I look forward to meeting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

I offer a free 20 minute initial online appointment. This will give you the opportunity to explain what the reasons are for wanting to begin counselling. It will also give you the opportunity to meet me before deciding to go ahead with a consultation.

After this initial appointment, we will schedule a 50 minute consultation which will be a structured session that enables you to talk at depth about your experiences. It will be a chance for you to tell me what you would like to gain from counselling, and explore what your goals are.

This session involves gathering of information to ensure we are both on the same page moving forward. It involves exploring past and present relationships, experiences and feelings. You may have lingering feelings which you can’t make sense of, that feel debilitating. You will be able to share these feelings here. Any anxieties or concerns you have about any aspect of your life. We can really start to get more of a sense of who you are now and where you would like to be in the future.

This consultation will last 50 minutes and is priced at £50. If after the consultation you decide you would like to begin your counselling journey, then we can arrange a set weekly time which accommodates us both.

I look forward to hearing from you.
