About me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with nearly 30 years of experience working in the NHS. Over the past decade, I have worked as a Consultant in a number of senior positions but am now returning my focus both within the NHS and privately to the work I personally find most fulfilling: providing quality psychological care to individuals wishing to make a meaningful and lasting change in their lives.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, the effects of early life trauma and long-term emotional or relational challenges.

Training, qualifications & experience

Having completed my Doctoral training as a Clinical Psychologist in 2004, I have since gone on to work in range of clinical health care settings. This has allowed me to work with a full range of clients. I have completed training in a number of therapeutic models including Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I pull on this wealth of experience to create an individual approach suited to your needs.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information

I understand that everyone's experiences are different, so I take my time to get to know you and what matters to you. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we will work together to understand the links between your thoughts, feelings, experiences, relationships and physical wellbeing. From there, we can agree on a plan that feels right for you.

I work out of clinics in both the city of Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. Please get in touch for more information.
