About me

Hi I'm Alison. At Emotionalskills, we offer counselling and therapy to individuals and couples, helping those suffering from anxieties, stress, depression, abuse and low esteem issues. Call us on 07986 488690 to book a free, initial consultation.

I work to understand my client's thoughts and concerns and I empathise with their emotions to recognise their needs.  I am totally acceptant and view each client as a unique individual.

I am trained and experienced in an extensive range of therapeutic styles and these I match with the client's process.

  • Anxiety & Panic
  • Depression/Low Mood
  • Sexual Abuse and Rape
  • Anger and Frustration
  • Couples
  • Stress
  • Phobias
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Eating Disorders
  • Esteem Issues

Because of the calm and safe environment and a strong therapeutic relationship, client feedback tells me that they can go places they have previously struggled to go.

Please feel free to text/call 07986488690, email me or perhaps visit the Emotionalskills website, www.emotionalskills.uk.   Sessions take place in a private and relaxed environment on the outskirts of Norwich where there is parking available.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I also specialise in:

  • Teenage Anxieties/Issues
  • ADHD
  • Domestic Abuse/Violence
  • Sexual Abuse/Assault
  • Safeguarding Issues

Counselling is available and Emotionalskills also has a comprehensive therapeutic skills programme with supportive and individual motivational guidance for long-term freedom from psychological tension, not a quick fix short-term control effect.

The course is aimed at life optimisation and positive emotional intelligence, designed to help clients reduce their emotional issues permanently.

By becoming more self-aware, being able to manage unwelcome emotions and empathise with others, distressed people can improve relationships and gain a calmer, happier, richer life.
