About me

I appreciate that choosing a therapist can feel difficult, so I hope this gives you an idea of who I am and helps you in your decision making. I believe effective therapy is based on you and I working together, not only to understand what is happening for you, but to consider a way forward underpinned by evidence based approaches. Developing a greater understanding of what is happening for you can also help you to develop techniques you can use if similar issues should recur.

I am an experienced professional who has seen just how effective CBT can be for anxiety and depression related difficulties.

Empathy and compassion, as well as understanding and respect, are what I bring to therapy sessions. I have a good sense of humour when appropriate, and enjoy working in partnership with clients.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a background of over thirty years experience working in mental health as a Registered Nurse, before training as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.
