About me
I’m a certified Play Therapist based in Kent and I’m also a mother of one. I work in Maidstone, Medway, Swale, Ashford and surrounding areas.
I have an academic background in Early Childhood Studies and have previously worked with children and their families at messy play groups, and in schools as a teaching assistant and in a 1:1 SEN support role.
Mental health is something I have always been passionate about and whilst studying for my degree, I became fascinated with the power of play and its healing properties for young children. Through play and creative mediums, I am able to provide children with a safe and nurturing environment in which they can feel empowered. I work using a child-centred, holistic approach. I place a strong emphasis on creating a supportive and accepting environment in which children can express themselves freely through their play. I strive to understand each child's feelings and perspectives allowing them to feel heard and validated. I work using a non-directive approach, which means I do not direct the child's play or behaviour. Allowing the child freedom to make choices on how they spend their time increases their autonomy and self-expression.
