Dr Abigail Brown
Throughout my professional journey I have gained a range of experience of working within various NHS services over the past eight years. I have gained specialist skills in working with psychological difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, emotion regulation, building better interpersonal relationships, self-harm, addictions (gambling and alcohol), bereavement and personality disorder. I have worked with adolescents and adults with learning difficulties. I also have a special interest in the perinatal field and working with women who have experienced a Traumatic Birth.
I integrate a number of models within my therapeutic practice such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy. My approach is collaborative and it will be dependent on what you need in that moment.
I would like to invite you into a safe space where you can discuss your struggles. I believe that through the process of therapy we are able to heal and live a more valued life. We all have the capacity to heal and build our resilience when we feel supported and validated.
I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to give you the opportunity to decide if I am a good fit for you.
