Supervision details
I have a level 6 diploma in art therapy supervision through BAAT (The British Association of Art Therapists), and accredited by CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body). The training, whilst influenced by art psychotherapy in its approach, integrates some of the main theories that underpin supervision for psychological therapists and counsellors. I am therefore able to see practitioners from a range of different modalities who place the therapeutic relationship at the centre of their practice, but not those requiring supervision for specialist techniques (EMDR, CBT, NLP for example).
I offer a free initial consultation to discuss supervision needs and to establish whether we might be able to work together.
My current area of experience is adult mental health, though I have past experience as well as current supervisees working with children and in with other clients. I work as a therapist in private practice so can offer support to therapists working independently from organisations or on a freelance basis.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
