Scared of Being Judged in Supervision?

Perhaps you've never really 'clicked' with a supervisor before.

It can be really hard to be completely honest in supervision. We can hide what might be most important for fear of judgement or misunderstanding.

We've all had shockers where we've let boundaries slide, got two clients' stories mixed up, struggled to ask for payment when we know we should, or felt de-skilled, panicked and froze. It's all part of growing as a therapist.

Feel Safe in Supervision

I want you to feel safe to share your anxieties, insecurities, and even your most shame-inducing therapeutic moments, and trust that you'll be treated with understanding, compassion and help.

And I want you to develop – to feel effective and secure, for your own sake and for your clients'.

What I Offer

I offer supervision online on Zoom, 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

I'm currently in placement for my supervision training, and thus am charging half-rate,  £25 per hour (£37.50 per ninety-minute session), until I qualify.

Session length can be negotiated based on your personal requirements.

I offer you a space to be heard, to process your client work and 'feel felt' (Siegel, 1999). I will encourage your critical thinking. And I will hold in mind your career path as a whole, by getting to know your strengths and weaknesses, and pitching up in your 'zone of proximal development' (Vygotsky, 1967).

I don't want your supervision to be a passive chat, nor an overwhelming threat. I want it to be a safe and enjoyable challenge.

The supervision I offer is based on the Integrative Developmental Model (IDM; Stoltenberg and McNeill, 2010), and utilises the Seven-Eyed Model (Hawkins and Shohet, 2012).

Next Step

I offer a free 20-minute Zoom chat for us to decide if we're a compatible match.

Email me to enquire, and I will get back to you within two (working) days to book this in.

Working Online

I have had specific training for facilitating therapy online, and separate specific training for supervising online. So you can feel safe that you're working with someone who loves to work online, rather than having begrudgingly transitioned due to the pandemic.

What's the Point of Supervision?

I see that the purposes of supervision are:

  • to provide you support regarding your clinical practice
  • to reflect on the processes of your clients, and yourself in relationship with your clients
  • to maintain and grow your competence, skills, knowledge and confidence
  • to foster your unique professional development
  • to monitor good, ethical practice in your clinical work for the welfare of yourself, your clients, the general public, and the profession.
