Supervision details

I provide individual or group supervision, to Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Clinical Psychologists.  I am flexible about duration and frequency of supervision sessions.  As an experienced EMDR Consultant (Accredited Supervisor), supervision hours can be counted towards EMDR Practitioner Accreditation.  I also provide support towards BACP Accreditation.

I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist.  I worked for several years in an NHS IAPT service and have supervised staff within the NHS, as well as in private practice.  I am happy to work with therapists from other models who are trying to integrate CBT techniques into their practice.

My original training was in Integrative Psychotherapy, at the Metanoia Institute, and I am influenced by their model of relational integrative psychotherapy.

I have many years experience of working in private practice and am happy to advise about setting up and maintaining a thriving practice.   As well as working for the NHS, my past experience includes working as a Social Worker, Community Worker, Youth Worker, and also in Education and the Media.  I currently provide supervision at RISE (a domestic abuse charity), Survivors' Network (for survivors of sexual violence) and Release for Women (provides low-cost groups and counselling).  I have a good understanding of the challenges faced by those working in voluntary agencies.  I am happy to provide a supervision space for people working in a variety of caring professions or who may experience vicarious trauma as part of their job.

Supervision qualifications: EMDR Consultant; Diploma in Integrative Supervision, (Metanoia Institute); Supervision of CBT practitioners in IAPT (University of Surrey).  Approved Supervisor for UKCP and the Metanoia Institute (Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology courses).

Fees: £95 per hour - for self-funding supervisees.   Longer or shorter sessions are charged pro rata.

Fees for organisations may vary.

Please contact me if you would like an informal chat about working together.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
