Supervision details
Hello and thanks for stopping by my profile!
A little bit about me
Trained in person centred therapy, I predominantly offer this to my private practice clients as the mode that I work in. I'm also an affiliate counsellor for an EAP organisation, giving me an alternative approach and understanding to therapy. When in the room with a client, I will sometimes bring in tools from my tool box, in the form of creative techniques and a more directive solution focused therapy if appropriate.
In a life before counselling, I went to university where I studied for my BA honors degree in Education Studies with Identity Studies and then went on to work in the Education Sector for many years. I work predominantly with clients age 16 and over have a particular (but not exclusive) experience and interest in neurodiversity.
If you feel that you would like to be supported, listened to, gently challenged and encouraged without judgement in your supervision, then please do get in touch. I use the 7 eyed supervision model - looking at the client, the therapist, the supervisor, the relationships between therapist, client and supervisor, and the wider system.
Supervision sessions can be held either online via zoom or face to face at my office in Wigan. Sessions are £40 for an hour or £55 for 90 minutes. I offer a reduced rate to counsellors in training.
I also offer a free 30 minute, no obligation intro session. If you would like to arrange a chat to see if we could work together, please do drop me a message or email and we can work out a convenient time and day.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
