About Me and My Approach

Hello, thanks for visiting my Supervisor Profile. My name is Alexandra and I am a fully qualified and accredited Integrative and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I practice from an integrative  and cognitive behavioural approach.  I am also a fully qualified Clinical Supervisor and I am also an accredited trainer in counselling and psychotherapy.

I supervise psychotherapists, counsellors and psychologists from a range of therapeutic modalities including cognitive and behavioural; person-centred; integrative, coaching and others. I also offer clinical supervision to other non-therapist professionals including dietitians; support/mental health workers; nurses; teachers; and business professionals.

I am also an accredited trainer and can supervise other trainers and lecturers in psychotherapy and counselling. I also offer supervision to other supervisors.

I supervise trainee therapists; newly qualified therapists; experienced therapists and accredited therapists in addition to those above.

I hold accredited membership with COSCA (Scotland's main membership body for psychotherapy and counselling); membership with BABCP and graduate membership with the British Psychological Society. I am also Chair of EDTNG (Eating Disorder Therapist Networking Group) and Consultant at EDMenSt. I am Clinical Director at three private psychotherapy practices and manage a team of 14 therapists in Scotland and England. I also faciliate several networking groups. I am also a trainer/lecturer (independently and for several providers).

I am an encouraging and supportive clinical supervisor and work hard to help my supervisees be the best therapists, counsellors and professionals they can. I am warm and friendly and create a safe and confidential space in which to discuss clients, seek support and information, problem-solve conflicts and dilemmas and explore any personal concerns or challenges you may be facing as a clinician or professional. I am encouraging and have a sense of humour, which I think is really important given the work we all do.

My current supervisees have all benefited from my encouraging approach and found supervision to be valuable in many ways. It's important to have a supportive space as a therapist/professional, isn't it? I feel that I provide this.

Eating Disorders Experience

I have been involved in the field of eating disorders for over 23 years. I have occupied a range of roles including: director of a leading eating disorder charity in Scotland; chair of trustees; committee member with another eating disorder charity; volunteer; support group facilitator; psychology researcher in eating disorders; psychotherapist in eating disorders; lecturer and trainer in eating disorders; clinical director of an eating disorder clinic; and chair of an eating disorders professional network (amongst others).

So, if you are looking for a clinical supervisor who works in the field of eating disorders and disordered eating, I am happy to assist. I supervise professionals who are not involved in the field of eating disorders too, so if you are looking for a generalist supervisor, I can also provide appointments to you.

Location
I can offer supervision appointments at the following locations:
* At my clinic in Glasgow city centre.
* Online  (via Zoom/Signal/Teams) to anyone across the UK.

For those choosing in-person supervision: my office is accessible from a wide range of areas outside of Glasgow too.  Buchanan Bus Station, various train and subway stations, the M8 motorway and many bus stops are within a few minutes walk from my office. There are various car parks nearby too.

LOOKING FOR A SUPERVISOR WHO IS A BABCP ACCREDITED THERAPIST?
If you are specifically looking for a supervisor who is  BABCP accredited therapist, then we can help with that too. Our clinical supervisor, Liz, also works here at our practice. She is a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist with experience of working in private practice and within the the NHS. We understand that some trainees and qualified therapists require their clinical supervisor to be specifically accredited by BABCP, so we can offer that too. Online, telephone and in-person (Glasgow city centre) appointments are offered by Liz. The same rates above apply.

Get in Touch

If you are interested in booking some clinical supervision with Alexandra or Liz or would like some more information, no problem at all. Please get in touch and we will get back to you soon. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the future.

Best wishes,

Alexandra
