Barbara Perry - Counselling, Psychotherapy, Supervision, MBACP (Snr Accd)
I provide clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists both in training and also those who are qualified.
I have 25 years of working therapeutically with adults, couples, teaching groups and young people in various settings including private practice, colleges, schools, managing a young people’s counselling agency and behaviour analysis in residential homes for young people. These settings gave me a great deal of learning and research in counselling and psychotherapy of what I can offer in the present day.
For students in counselling and psychotherapy, as well as supervisees, I work integratively in a humanistic approach, primarily Existential, with Person-Centred and Gestalt. I gained my BACP Senior Accreditation in Supervising Individuals and Groups in 2010 and qualified as a Supervisor in 2009.
I offer reflection, guidance, challenge, and a creative holistic approach, sometimes ‘out of the box’ to understand a different perspective and wider view.
My individual counselling supervisees in private practice have been long term with me and their work has been in agencies for young people, secondary schools, primary schools, private practice and a prison in Berkshire. I have held in-house supervision groups within organisations, for example, The Police Federation, Police Rehabilitation Centre in Oxfordshire, Regents College and New School of Psychotherapy & Counselling in London, Life Story Therapeutic Centre in Berkshire, the Moving On Project in Hampshire. and the employed staff of 4 young people's residential homes for many years. I moved to Eastbourne, East Sussex in 2016 and have been working online. I will return to face to face sessions when conditions permit safe working.
