Catarina Vasconcelos (HCPC - Art Therapist, Psychologist (MA), Supervisor)
I am a qualified HCPC art psychotherapist and counselling psychologist with over 10 years of experience. I've been supporting children and families since 2012, having worked in schools, in domestic violence settings and privately. I've also worked with adults in cancer care, with parents in community centres, parents in a domestic violence charity, and adult clients privately.
Alongside my clinical work, I started working as a clinical supervisor in 2014, overseeing the work of counsellors working with children in schools.
I currently supervise in-training therapists as well as qualified practitioners, within an integrative approach, based on art therapy, psychodynamic and systemic principles. I am passionate about helping other therapists in their learning and professional growth. Supervision offers a safe space for supervisees to explore and reflect on therapeutic work including difficulties that may come up. I offer a supportive supervisory relationship where clients' needs are at the centre of our thinking and self-awareness is encouraged.
Depending on a supervisee's needs, I like to make use of creativity, imagery and experiential exercises. Currently, I am training towards accreditation as a Counselling Supervisor with the BACP at CPTA. I offer low-cost individual and group supervision to therapists working with children and adults. £20 per individual hour (fee to be increased to £50 when fully qualified).
My practice is overseen by a qualified clinical supervisor and covered by a professional insurance.
