Supervision and teaching

I first qualified as a supervisor back in 1990. In terms of the therapy process good supervision is vital. It is the place where we can take our fears, concerns, mistakes and triumphs. It should be both nurturing and challenging, a place of support and growth. That is what I require from my own supervision and it is what I commit to giving to my supervisees whether they are trainees or qualified practitioners and just as with the therapy process it is the relationship between myself and the supervisee that is the vital ingredient.

Over the years I have both written and taught counselling training courses from certificate to foundation degree level and taught on Psychotherapy training courses as an external facilitator. Alongside this I have run many shorter stand alone workshops on a range of therapy subjects. I love teaching and supervising! I absolutely believe that the learning process should be rich, enjoyable and meaningful for both teacher and learners. And I have been lucky enough to do the thing I love across many years and in many different settings.

In terms of the therapy process good supervision is vital. It is also worth travelling for and I have indeed travelled widely for my own supervision. For those practitioners coming from outside the area I am happy to offer a mixture of telephone and face to face supervision. So please do call me so we can discuss what your needs are and how I could help.

I enjoy facilitating CPD groups and am open to being approached by small groups of practitioners seeking CPD (or supervision). Again I am happy to discuss your requirements.

Fees

Group supervision by arrangement. Individual Supervision £50 per 60 min session for qualified practitioners (£45 for trainees)

Please note because when we commence ongoing counselling or supervision together I commit to maintaining a space for you in my caseload, I cannot easily fill that space should you not attend. Therefore, I operate a cancellation fee policy. This means that I charge for all sessions missed unless previously agreed together before hand (in the case of planned holidays, medical appointments etc).

Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or direct bank transfer.
