Supervisor Julia Anderson MBACP (Accredited), Pg Dip, BA (Hons)
A BACP-accredited, qualified person-centred counsellor with 14 years' post-qualifying experience, I also have a Certificate in Supervision from the University of Strathclyde. I work from Glasgow city centre.
I offer individual supervision to qualified counsellors and those in training who are seeking, or require, a supervisor who works from a person-centred approach. This includes first year students of Counselling Psychology seeking a counselling supervisor.
Working largely within employee assistance and private medical insurance contexts, I have experience of working with a wide range of mental health and wellbeing issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress and trauma - amongst others. In addition, I have particular experience of carrying out assessments of clients' psychological and therapy needs, and am able to support you if this forms part of your own work or if this is an area you wish to explore more about within supervision.
I strive to offer a welcoming, supportive approach to supervisees, and a place for us to explore your work, how you feel about it, and its impact on you. Integrity and ethics are, as you would hope, high on my priority list. I aim to ensure client and counsellor are attended to during supervision. I have a particular interest in counsellors maintaining good levels of self-care, and the importance of boundaries in the work we do (and in life!).
I do regular CPD work in-keeping with BACP's requirements and ethos, including attending workshops and courses; viewing online CPD presentations; reading & discussion with peers for professional and personal development.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to find out more and for us to have a short initial telephone discussion (no fee) to see if we feel we might work together. My fees are £50 an hour, (£75 per 90 minute session).
