Mandy Stewart BSc(Hons), Psychotherapist, Counsellor
My qualification is the 'PCT Britain Post-Diploma Certificate in Supervision'
Both my Counselling Diploma and Supervision training are Person Centred. I have a special interest in Attachment Theory and have undertaken extensive training with Linda Cundy at The Wimbledon Guild Counselling and Training Service.
I have also studied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with Dr Adrian Hemmings, a course specially tailored for Counsellors trained in other modalities and Solution Focused Brief Therapy with Harvey Ratner and Chris Iveson (BRIEF).
My Supervision style is Person Centred and I believe that the relationship between the Supervisor and Supervisee should be one which enables growth and understanding of the therapeutic relationship. I see my relationship with Supervisees as being one of mutual respect. I do not consider myself to be 'the expert' but I will ask questions about your clients and your work and draw upon my experiences over the last twenty plus years to share with you what might be helpful.
There may be times in your life when events in your personal life at home or in the work place seem overwhelming and supervision may need to be more focused on your issues. While being mindful of boundaries and when personal therapy may be more appropriate I am always willing to explore what you might need for your self care, so that you are free to practice to the best of your ability.
I also see my role as being available to discuss theoretical and ethical issues which our work may raise and to offer support with accreditation.
