Supervision and Work Discussion

I offer clinical supervision to counsellors, social workers and other care professionals. This is a thinking space in which all kinds of relationship-based work can be reflected upon within a psychodynamic framework. Supervision can take place individually, in groups/teams, and also online.

Psychoanalytic supervision is an opportunity to think about your work from a psychoanalytic perspective and to explore the emotional impact of therapeutic work as a whole. Through this you will deepen your understanding of your clients' situation and improve motivation and enjoyment of your work.

I also run online work discussion groups for practitioners which combine reading journal articles and presenting ongoing cases and organisational issues.

I have been a longstanding clinical supervisor in the NHS and I currently run a training course in Therapeutic Supervision for the Association for Psychodynamic Practice and Counselling in Organisational Settings www.appcios.info

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
